Why we started Meridian Capital Partners
A firm built around one question: what would advice look like if it answered only to the client?
Meridian Capital Partners was founded in 2009 by a small group of advisors who had grown frustrated with an industry built around product sales rather than client outcomes. We believed there was a better way: an independent, fee-only firm where every recommendation could be explained in plain language and measured against a single standard — the client’s best interest.
Since then, we’ve grown deliberately, adding credentialed specialists in financial planning, investment management, and tax strategy rather than chasing scale for its own sake. Every client works with a coordinated team, not a single generalist juggling every discipline alone.
The values that keep us honest
We hold ourselves to a fiduciary standard not because regulation requires it, but because we believe it’s the only way advice should be given. That means fee-only compensation, full disclosure of conflicts (we aim to have none), and a willingness to say “that’s not right for you” even when it costs us a sale.
Our fee-only, fiduciary pledge
- We are compensated only by our clients — never by commissions or product sales.
- We disclose any and all conflicts of interest before providing advice.
- We recommend strategies and products based solely on client suitability.
- We document our reasoning so clients can always see how we arrived at a recommendation.
